Easy like Sunday Morning

At some point I got it in my head to make french toast. So that’s exactly what I did this morning. I originally got this recipe from the TV guide way back when. (does TV guide even still exist?) Anyway since I didn’t keep the tv guide in question, I just googled it. It wasn’t too difficult, this was “Mr Burn’s French Toast” after all. Yup, the same evil yellow Springfieldian(?). Memories work in strange ways, why do I remember this from over 10 years ago yet I retained nothing from geography class? (my friends can vouch for me).

Other than walking the dog, I didn’t really go out so this outfit was pretty much just for the challenge’s sake. I would have otherwise stayed in sweats. 2 more days of my 13 for 30!! It will be like having a brand new wardrobe. That will make it easier with the shopping ban.

This batch makes so much, I suggested making half or 2/3 of it if you are just 2.

Mr. Burns’ French Toast
Yield: 6 Servings

2 Eggs
2 1/2 ts Sugar
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Vanilla extract
2 c Milk
1 c Flour
2 1/2 ts Baking powder
12 sl Thick slices of bread
Oil for frying

Blend together the eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. Slowly stir
in flour and baking powder and continue mixing until smooth. Dip
bread into batter, allowing excess to drip off. In hot skillet with
1-inch/3cm. of oil, fry on both sides until golden brown. Drain on
paper towels. Top with [EDIT: anything you want!].

Mmmmmmmm mmmm

  1. Love the scarf. (Didn’t realize it was part of the available items…)
    Where’s the snow??
“Pain perdu” is awesome with powdered sugar. Is this blog deviating from fashion and delving into recipes??
And somehow your hair looks even sweeter today.

P.S. Give my brother back his mug.
